6 Days, 5 Nights Safari to Amboseli, Tsavo West, and Tsavo East National Parks
Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National ParkYour safari begins with an early morning drive from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park, located at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp, followed by a relaxing break. Later in the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive across the vast open plains, where herds of elephants, zebras, wildebeest, and giraffes roam against the backdrop of the snow-capped mountain. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight as the sunset paints the skies of Amboseli.
Day 2: Full Day in Amboseli
Spend the entire day exploring Amboseli’s diverse ecosystems. Early morning and late afternoon game drives increase your chances of spotting lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and the park’s famous large elephant herds. In between, you can visit a local Maasai village to learn about their culture (optional). Capture stunning photos of wildlife silhouetted against Kilimanjaro before heading back to your lodge for dinner and a restful night.
Day 3: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tsavo West National Park with a scenic drive through Shetani Lava Flows. Check in at your lodge or camp and have lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive that includes a visit to Mzima Springs, a crystal-clear natural spring where hippos and crocodiles can be viewed from an underwater observation chamber. Tsavo West is also known for its dramatic landscapes, from rocky ridges to dense thickets. Dinner and overnight at your Tsavo West lodge.
Day 4: Tsavo West – Tsavo East National Park
Begin the day with a morning game drive as you exit Tsavo West and head eastwards through the scenic landscapes of the park. Arrive at Tsavo East National Park—famous for its red-dust elephants and vast savannahs—just in time for lunch. After a short rest, embark on an afternoon game drive to explore the park's famous attractions like the Aruba Dam and the Galana River. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Full Day in Tsavo East
Today is dedicated to discovering the expansive wilderness of Tsavo East. Early morning and evening game drives offer excellent opportunities to spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and a variety of birdlife. The vastness of the park provides a truly wild and untamed experience. In between game drives, enjoy meals and relaxation time at your lodge, perhaps with a view of a nearby waterhole frequented by wildlife.
Day 6: Tsavo East – Nairobi
After breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive as you make your way out of the park. You’ll then proceed with your return journey either back to Nairobi or onwards to Mombasa if you wish to extend your holiday at the coast. This marks the end of your 6-day safari adventure through some of Kenya’s most iconic parks.
